Introduction

Throughout the long history of Audi, each car has been brought to life by a core philosophy of beautiful style, intelligence and technology

Audi

Audi has one of the most multi-faceted stories ever told in the history of the automobile. The emblem with its four rings presents one of Germany’s oldest-established automobile manufacturers. It symbolizes the amalgamation in 1932 of four previously independent motor-vehicle manufacturers: Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer. These companies form the roots of what is today AUDI AG.

These roots go back to1899 August when Horch founded Horch & Cie. in Cologne. There he helped build his first car. After differences of opinion with the council, August Horch left the company and created a second car company. Because his surname was already in use and was protected by trademark, he chose its Latin translation for the new company. So “horch!” – or “hark” – became “audi”.

Throughout the long history of Audi, each car has been brought to life by a core philosophy of beautiful style, intelligence, technology, top-of-the-line performance in each detail without a single compromise in quality. These rules, together with an incredible inspiration and passion to innovations, continue to drive Audi into the future.

The 2017 Audi Q7

The 2017 Audi Q7 impresses with a set of new functions and technologies suggested. For example, the collision avoidance technologies, traffic jam assist feature and Audi presence city with pedestrian detection, which detects vehicles and pedestrians at speeds of up to 52 mph and alert the driver to a potential collision.

Traffic sign recognition was also included, this system detects upcoming road signs (such as speed limit signs) — even when reaching driving environments such as school zones or construction zones — and shows them on the cars’ driver information system or Audi virtual cockpit.
Another useful implementation is an infrared camera and thermal-imaging technology, this available system helps you see farther down the road in low-light conditions and alerts the driver about pedestrians and larger animals within 300 feet.

Audi active lane assist

This available feature is helpful, detecting if your vehicle is drifting out of its lane without use of the turn signal and assist the driver in steering the vehicle back onto its intended direction.

Traffic jam assist

Traffic jam assist provides gentle speed acceleration, braking and steering guidance, allowing for semi-autonomous driving at speeds between 0 and 40 mph in congested traffic.
