2022 Lexus UX 250h F Sport

I am test driving the 2022 UX 250h F Sport, a hybrid compact SUV. The UX 250h has a very affordable low price starting around $36K, especially considering its luxury last name Lexus, which is famous for premium materials, quality, great service, and long-lasting.

Compact SUVs like the UX 250h are becoming more popular as drivers are staying away from traditional sedans instead of looking for small SUVs.

The UX is very small but very unique and can be very attractive for city drivers, it has a bold and stylish design with a unique body shape. The Lexus UX comes with a standard advanced Lexus Safety System + 2.0.

This SUV has exceptional body rigidity and a low center of gravity for exceptional maneuvering. Among many contemporary features.

The new 2022 Lexus UX gives you new color combinations in the interior and exterior with the addition of exterior colors like Grecian Water and Cloudburst Gray and extends the paint all the way to the wheel well with color-keyed overfenders included on all packages. The UX offers unique color combinations to reflect each driver’s taste.

Interior Grecian Water color can be paired with Black, Birch and Birch with Lapis interior options.

Lexus UX

The 2022 Lexus UX 250h is a five-passenger SUV that comes in three ideal trims: Base, F Sport the one I am driving, and Luxury, the top of the line, the three models have a generous all-wheel-drive powertrain.

The name “UX” means “Urban Explorer” due to its compact size that is ideal for city life. The UX is made for 5 passengers and has a good large cargo space what is very important when buying a small SUV.

The UX 250h was unveiled just around 3 years ago at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2018, as the smallest crossover model in the Lexus lineup, below the compact Lexus NX. The UX is a global car model, marketed worldwide with the same name.

Hybrid UX

The UX is made in different trims and styles, like the regular gasoline model UX 200, UX 200 F Sport, and UX 200 Luxury, or as a Hybrid version. There are different UX models, like the UX 250h F Sport that I am test driving and other hybrid versions.

Not so many luxury automakers, are producing hybrid versions in their small SUVs, but it seems that Lexus is taking the initiative to create hybrid versions of most of its compact SUVs, like the UX 250h. Considering that hybrid and especially electric cars are the future of the automobile industry, it seems that Lexus is stepping in the right direction.

UX Gas and Hybrid models are very powerful and it is difficult to notice the difference in power between the non-hybrid and hybrid, but you will save a lot on your gasoline budget with the hybrid version due to its great efficiency at 39 Combined MPG Estimate.

F Sport Performance Trim

F-Sport adds performance technology to regular Lexus sedans or SUVs.

F Sport is a Lexus brand used on certain trim models offering fast, durable, highly capable performance cars that rely on a wide range of technologies to help make their performance accessible to drivers of all skill levels.

When you drive an F Sport car, like the UX 250h F Sport I am driving, you get a racing-type car that you can drive every day.

Lexus F Sport models are sporty, powerful, fast and fun to drive. F Sport Lexus trim models are one of my favorite Lexus cars to drive. The F Sport is not only about performance, as these vehicles also include design touches to reflect their high-performance level on the exterior and interior design. Among many features, the F SPORT tuned Adaptive Variable Suspension can make you feel like flying on the road.

The Lexus UX 250h is a stylish fuel-efficient SUV with a distinctive interior design helps set the UX as a very appealing hybrid compact SUV.

If you are looking for sharp styling and excellent fuel economy city vehicle spending 39 MPG Estimate Combined, the UX 250h can be the right choice, luxury, unexpensive and fuel efficient, that is the UX 250h.

Trims and Pricing for the 2022 Lexus UX 250h Hybrid

This cute Lexus SUV has a very modern style and enough horsepower but price is very low. Especially considering that this SUV is made by the luxury brand Lexus. The three UX 250h hybrid models come with AWD standard.

Pricing has increases, the 2022 version goes from $36K to $41K depending on which trim model you wish to purchase. The one I am test driving, the UX 250h F Sport is a great model to buy with a mid range price in the lineup.

  • UX 250h AWD
    $36,825 Starting MSRP

  • UX 250h F SPORT AWD
    $39,165 Starting MSRP

  • UX 250h LUXURY AWD
    $41,865 Starting MSRP

Performance

The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine includes two motor generators and a nickel-metal hydride battery. This configuration provides a total of 181 horsepower and drives the front wheels through a continuously variable automatic transmission, however, when additional traction and power is needed, a third electric motor is used to drive the rear wheels, providing s very strong 250h of all-wheel drive onboard the UX 250h.

The UX 250h is small but powerful enough with its all-wheel drive and enough horsepower.  the UX hybrid flexible engine AWD configuration brings power on demand as need it, keeping fuel economy low at 39 Combined MPG Estimate, without spending all power sources when not needed.

The UX’s AWD system is very good for general roads but not appropriate for wild venturing onto off-roads. It is a small SUV, suitable for congested cities and tight parking spaces.

The UX 250h drives very well but it could have better acceleration with very possible improvement in the next models. The UX 250h is stable and fun to drive. It has a basic 181 horsepower, but the electric motor gives you instant more power when needed. Steering effort is appropriate and precise, and at parking speeds, the effort clears up for easy maneuvering.

The hybrid UX is more comfortable at city driving, where the engine can stay in its mid-range of acceptable torque, and there is no need for real driving dexterity. But it is also very slow, especially for a luxury vehicle. The UX doesn’t have much off-road capability. A 34-foot turning circle makes it ideal for city driving.

2022 Lexus UX 250h

The 2022 Lexus UX 250h F Sport that I am test driving is a great choice if you want to buy a compact hybrid, an attractive price, plenty of standard features, and expressive styling for a small crossover SUV. The UX 250h is All-Wheel Drive and combines an even more efficient version of the 2.0-liter gas engine with a fourth-generation hybrid drive system developed specifically for this platform.

Luxury subcompact SUVs like the 250h are becoming more popular as most drivers are staying away from sedans, and instead buying a small SUV is the perfect replacement for a sedan, making the UX 250h a great model to drive and buy for a very affordable price starting around $36K.
