2025 Nissan Murano
Written by Marco V. Carvajal
The Fourth-generation Nissan Murano is a Crossover SUV for five passengers that offers a lot of value for its mid-range price starting at $40K, with a redesigned interior and tons of upgrades.
The new 2025 Murano luxury SUV is not a performance car, but it has enough power for what you usually need, powered by a VC-Turbo engine, available as FWD and AWD on the base trim level SV Murano, and only as AWD on the higher trim levels.
I enjoy riding the new Murano and test-driving all the upgraded features and extras that this Nissan SUV offers standard, included in the base price.

Nissan Murano offers luxury value, giving you more for your money in a mid-range level.
The Murano Midsize SUV is smart and connects to a suite of advanced safety and smart technologies.
The Murano is assembled in the U.S., at Smyrna, Tennessee, at Nissan’s award-winning Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant.
If you think Nissan is a Japanese brand, just think how, just a month ago, Nissan celebrated that 700,000 Murano car units that were assembled in the U.S.
This is huge, close to one million units made in the United States. Not only is this a production milestone, but it is also an indication of how successful the Murano Crossover is in the U.S. market.

Performance
The Murano is not the most powerful car, but it has a very decent power to drive on difficult roads.
- 241 Horsepowers
- 260Lb-ft of Torque
- MPG 21 City / 27 Highways
The all-new Murano is updated and upgraded with impressive efficiency, serving up to 27 highway MPG.
All Murano models are powered by a 2.0 VC-Turbo engine that adjusts its shape to deliver up to 241 horsepower combined with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system continuously monitors road conditions and can quickly respond to help provide traction when needed.

Very Luxurious and Elegant
The curvy and stylish exterior of the Murano is very attractive and modern. The Nissan Murano’s interior was designed to bring relaxation to the driver.
Its artfully crafted, lush design has available enhanced features like a panoramic moonroof and ventilated and massaging semi-aniline quilted leather-appointed front seats.
The interior of the 2025 Nissan Murano Platinum offers a refined experience thanks to its premium leather-trimmed seats, which feature power adjustment and a driver memory function. Both the front and rear seats are heated, and the front seats are also ventilated for added comfort.
The steering wheel is also wrapped in leather, complemented by simulated wood interior trim and metallic accents that enhance the sense of luxury. A panoramic sunroof provides a bright and open atmosphere, while ambient interior lighting adds a welcoming touch to the cabin.

In terms of functionality, the interior features spacious compartments in the doors and center console, as well as a center armrest in both rows with integrated cup holders. The second row offers reclining and 60/40 split-folding seats, allowing for greater versatility for passengers and cargo.
The 2025 Murano Platinum offers good cargo space, with 32.9 cubic feet behind the second row and up to 67 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down, with a flat load floor and an additional compartment under the trunk for organizing smaller items.

The technological experience of the top of the line 2025 Nissan Murano Platinum is impressive. You can enjoy a seamless visual setup thanks to two 12.3-inch digital screens that blend seamlessly, integrating the instrument cluster and multimedia system.
The driver display shows customizable information such as speed, rpm, range, and outside temperature, while the center stack manages wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Maps, the Google Assistant, built-in Alexa, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, and Wi-Fi with hotspot.
The system responds smoothly, and while some touch buttons require a brief familiarization period, the design is intuitive and aesthetically pleasing, with a good user-friendly experience.
The center console also includes a wireless phone charger, front and rear USB-C ports, a drive mode selector (Eco, Standard, Sport), push-button ignition, and controls accessible from the heated multifunction steering wheel.
The semi-autonomous ProPILOT Assist 1.1 system works seamlessly, integrating adaptive cruise control and active steering assistance, thanks to the system’s on-screen display, which even projects data onto the full-color Head-Up Display on the windshield.
When maneuvering and parking your Murano, the 3D Surround View system and Invisible Hood View feature provide a simulation of the area immediately in front of the wheels to be seen on the vehicle body, facilitating maneuvering in tight spaces.

Murano offers standard Nissan Safety Shield 360, plus additional driver-assistance features like two available new-to-Murano camera technologies: Invisible Hood View, which allows for a virtual view through the engine bay for precise navigation, and 3D Around View Monitor, which provides eight virtual vantage points when parking or maneuvering.
ProPILOT Assist and ProPILOT Assist 1.1 help to streamline road trips by helping with highway driving.

The large dual 12.3″ displays and an available Head-Up Display provide important information right in front of the driver and help the driver connect with the external world.

With Google built-in you can access dozens of apps for your Murano, with no phone required.
Connect to Google Assistant, Google Maps, and more on Google Play, and see them on your display.
Talk to Google Assistant to do more while driving, including turning up the heat, finding your next destination, and controlling your compatible smart home devices.
The Google system is paired with a Bose 10-speaker audio system tuned for great quality sound and high fidelity.
Wireless Smartphone Connectivity
Fewer cords with smart wireless connectivity.
Onboard the new Murano, connect your compatible smartphone to the infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, and make hands-free calls, stream your favorite music, and access your navigation. You can even stay powered up with wireless charging.
Murano Trims and Pricing
Nissan made it easy to select the best Murano you want to purchase. There is only one model FWD, and there are three models AWD.
With a price range from $40,470 to $49,600 MSRP, there are only three trim models you can select.
The SV is the base model Murano, available FWD and AWD, then the SL is the mid-range model, only available as AWD, with pricing around $46,560, and then the top-of-the-line Murano Platinum is only available as AWD, starting at $49,600.
The price difference and features between the three models is not huge, any model you will choose will be a good buy and will include plenty of features.
The SV Murano base model includes 20″ Gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels with gloss black aero covers, NissanConnect 12.3″ touch-screen display, and a wireless charger.
The SL Murano mid-range model also includes 20-inch Gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels, but enhanced with Gun Metallic aero covers, and a nice bonus of a Panoramic moonroof and Google Built-in.
The top-of-the-line luxury Platinum Murano includes an upgraded 21″ Machine-finished aluminum-alloy wheels with Gun metallic aero covers, very luxury-looking Quilted semi-aniline leather-appointed seats, and one of my favorite features with massaging front seats.

Murano Offers Value with Luxury Style and Performance
Nissan has redesigned its Murano for this year 2025. The new model features refreshed styling and some notable updates. The cabin has a sleeker design, incorporates Nissan’s latest infotainment and technology features, and a new engine under the hood for a reasonable mid-range price starting at $40K.
The Murano still occupies an unusual SUV segment. Compared to other Nissan products, it’s more expensive than the Rogue, one of the most successful products made by Nissan, but also more premium.
